You might wonder what I mean by real food. Food is always real, isn’t it?
Not necessarily.
Perhaps I’ll take a moment to write about what I mean when I say “real food”.
Simply put, real food is food that comes from the earth, from a farm, not from a factory. So apples lettuce, and eggs come from farms. They are real, wholesome foods, provided by nature.
How about a chocolate cake mix? — It comes from a factory and is a man-made food item with many additives, sugars, preservatives, and various other chemicals.
Why does it matter?
It matters because our bodies crave real food. We need food that is wholesome and nutritious, food that helps our bodies fight disease. Your body does not do well with processed aka “fake” food”.
Many chronic diseases (heart disease, diabetes, auto-immune diseases etc.) have sky-rocketed in the past few decades. Why? Because we are failing to eat what our bodies really need. Most people have gotten away from real food and live on highly-processed or “fake food”.
Did you know that most chronic diseases could be prevented with a healthy diet and exercise? Furthermore, there is evidence that many diseases can be reversed. How? With a healthy diet and exercise.
Many of my friends will say. “Chris, that is all fair and well. But I don’t have the time, nor the knowledge to cook from scratch. I wouldn’t know the first thing about cooking like my grandma used to.”
Stick with me for a little while and we’ll make it as simple as possible. One easy lesson at a time.
Real Food
- Energizes
- Heals
- Repairs
- Makes you feel good

We will learn to use real food and create delicious meals.
Lesson 1: What is Real Food?
Next Lesson: How to cook with real food. Making home-made soup from scratch, not boxed or canned.
This is an important message, essential not only for our health, but the health of the planet as well.

I agree, way too much processed food is being marketed as “healthy.” It only makes sense to eat natural, as this is what our bodies have been designed to consume. Thanks for spreading the word about this issue.

You are absolutely correct, Mark. The shelves are lined with “low fat”, “sugar free”, “gluten free” labels on processed foods as a marketing ploy. As you mentioned, our bodies are designed to eat natural foods.
One of the most important thing we can do is to read the ingredient list of anything we buy. It is in my heart to spread the word. Thank you for your comment. It shows you think about this issue too.

My sister is a holistic nutritionist, so she knows the in and outs, a big help. Yes, I too read the ingredients. I think many of these so-called health epidemics could be almost eliminated with proper diet,

Absolutely. Your sister sounds amazing. I agree with you, I believe many modern day chronic diseases are lifestyle generated and could be eliminated with proper diet and exercise.
